Dr. Gonzalez is an orthopaedic surgeon practicing in Venice, Florida. Born in Miami, Florida, he received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
In 1990, he accepted a commission in the United States Navy to treat the men and women serving our country in the Armed Forces. After completing his medical schooling, he spent a year at Portsmouth Naval Hospital before serving the fleet as a flight surgeon aboard the U.S.S. America.
Dr. Gonzalez then pursued his orthopaedic training at the University of Florida Jacksonville Campus. In 2000, he began his subspecialty training in knee reconstructive surgery until his mentor’s untimely death as a result of a plane crash nine months later. He practiced briefly in Orlando before moving to Venice Florida.
In Venice, he served as State Representative for two terms, obtained a law degree, and has written five books, including an orthopaedics dictionary, a review of America’s constitution, and three books on healthcare policy. He has served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff, and has played pivotal leadership roles amongst his peers.
He is the Founder and President of the United States Medical Association.
